The Turks and Caicos Islands is a British territory in the Caribbean. It consists of two main island groups in the North Atlantic Ocean, south-east of the Bahamas. The national sport of the country is unsurprisingly cricket, so the Turks and Caicos Islands national football team will always struggle to attract interest and consequently players. The sport also has to compete with fishing and sailing. The islands also hold an annual music festival to showcase local talent, as well as other performances.
The Turks and Caicos Islands national football team entered their first World cup qualification in 2002. In 2007 the FIFA Goal Programme helped the Turks and Caicos national football team to build their first national stadium. The improvements in their football infrastructure had an immediate effect as they recorded their first win in world cup qualification for 2010.
