The Dominica national football team only began entering FIFA world cup qualifying in 1998. They have entered all subsequent tournaments but have never qualified.
Dominica is nicknamed the Nature Isle of the Caribbean as it boasts unspoiled natural beauty in its rain-forests, animals and birds. Interestingly it also has the second largest boiling lake in the world and is actually still being formed as a landmass, by volcanic activity.
Dominica’s main source of income is tourism. As well as the previously mentioned natural beauties on the island, it also has surrounding ocean which is filled with a variety of dolphins and whales. The island does have its dangers as it is particularly vulnerable to hurricanes.
The national sport of Dominica is cricket and the country is one of a number that make up the West Indies cricket team.
In earlier qualification campaigns the Dominica national football team have not performed very well, but this is not a real surprise considering their relative size.
